This was painted from my deck - literally my everyday view. Here I wanted to capture the strong shadows that emphasize the ruggedness of these mountains. In the Catalina Mountains, Thimble Peak is a landmark - visible from most everywhere in Tucson. Along with its neighboring peaks, it forms the eastern side of Sabino Canyon.
