The St. Vrain River starts in Rocky Mountain National Park as little more than a creek - especially in the fall - as shown - when the snow melt is depleted. Come spring, however, it becomes a torrent. This cascade is 2/3rds of the way up to Ouzel Lake on a wonderful trail that is easy to hike. I was fascinated and wanted to capture the interplay of light and dark over the length of the cascade.
