This was my final "Alla Prima" study from my summer sessions with Clayton Beck III at the Palette and Chisel.  To be honest, with the final day breakdown of the set-up, I did add the cheese, grapes and rose after the fact in my studio.  The focus of my month-long studies with Clayton were on live painting, starting with monochrome, then moving to full color faces, on to full color figures, and finishing with still life. It was not unusual to complete 3-4 studies in a 7.5 hour day - vastly increasing my exposure to oil with a master to assist as required.  The odd-shaped wooden bowl in the left center is an artifact I picked up in Aspen some 30 years ago.  It is a fantastic wood turning hollow in the middle and with several holes through which background (or the inside of the bowl) may be seen.  Next on my agenda is a P&C drawing series, followed by a scheduled fall trip to Glacier National Park where I will resume my landscape series.
