I painted this portrait study in Lenin DeDol's portrait workshop at the Palette & Chisel.  Lenin is a very accomplished artist and teacher, and his guidance is reflected in some of the nuances capture in this study - in particular he helped with the model's left eye - always tough in a profile like this.  I was happy in being able to capture a bit of the petulant look I saw in her mouth and jaw line.  But, I cheated a bit by allowing her colorful hair to simply disappear into the background; and only gave a hint of the renaissance-era vest she wore for the sessions.
