Since I viewed the first episode of 1883 I knew I wanted to paint heroine Isabel May (Elsa). When a live session model didn't show for a scheduled session with the PNC, I had three hours on my hands and figured it was time. The reference photo was taken from a shot in Episode 2 when Elsa is exposed to what will be a long list of harsh realities of life crossing the country. This is one of many portrait studies I do to sharpen skills. Generally I do not do these for purchase.
